In North Somerset approximately 35% of young people currently participate in Higher Education. However, there are areas where participation is less than 16%. The Aimhigher West Partnership provides support for all state schools in North Somerset, but works most intensively with those schools whose pupils come from low participation neighbourhoods. The Partnership funds Aimhigher coordinators in these 'target' schools.
The Aimhigher West Area Partnership also funds Aimhigher coordinators in FE Colleges in the West Area.
