Aimhigher activities in Wiltshire are currently divided between two Area Partnerships: West and LIFE Partnerships. However, from 1st August 2008 the whole of Wiltshire will become part of the Aimhigher West Area.
In Wiltshire as a whole more than 35% of young people currently participate in Higher Education. However there are areas where participation is less than 16%. The Aimhigher West Partnership provides support for all Wiltshire state schools in its Area but works most intensively with those schools whose pupils come from low participation neighbourhoods. The Partnership funds Aimhigher coordinators in these 'target' schools.
The Aimhigher West Area Partnership also funds Aimhigher coordinators in FE Colleges in the West Area.
