If the course you want to study is available at a university or college close to where you live, you may decide to live at home whilst you study.  By staying put you can often save money on rent and keep in touch with home life - whilst still being able to experience university life.

If your school or college is involved with Aimhigher activities, you may have the opportunity to talk to student mentors, tutors or ambassadors about your choices.  Or you may take part in a 'taster day' or Summer School. Even if you cannot study the course you want locally, a 'taster' day at a university or college near can give you the opportunity to find out about university life.
