What's Life at Uni Like?
With so many people going into higher education from every walk of life, there's no such thing as a 'typical' student. So 'university life' for you may depend on whether you will be studying full- or part-time, or whether you will be living at home or not. You can be sure, though, that you will meet lots of new people and not just on your course. Social life is a big part of the student experience and universities and colleges have a range of social activities that cater for most interests.
You can find out more about life and facilities at different universities or colleges by looking at prospectuses or websites, or by attending an open day. You can find details of university and college open days on the
Open Days website.
If your school or college is involved with Aimhigher activities, you may have the opportunity to talk to student mentors, tutors or ambassadors about their experiences. Or you may take part in a 'taster day' or Summer School. You can find out about more about Summer Schools in the South West on their
website.
