The learner identity enquiry seeks to explore the contributions made by the Aimhigher programme to the development of positive learner identities by investigating such questions as:
To this end, we are encouraging (and can fund) partners to undertake small scale action research - 'Evaluation Mini Projects' - to gather qualitative and/or quantative data on the impact of the Aimhigher West programme on the development of more positive learner identities among Aimhigher target groups.
These could be different types of mini-project, so the Aimhigher activity whose impact on learners is being evaluated could cover a single event/activity, or a range of different activities, or a series/progression of activities. Evaluation methods used may include individual or group interviews, questionnaires, attitude surveys, cases-studies, institutional data analysis, or any other recognised research method.
The Evaluation Mini-Projects are being supported an Evaluation Coordination team based at UWE, who can provide advice and guidance to anyone wishing to undertake a project, along with on-going support for those undertaking projects. Part of this support is an Evaluation Tool-Kit which is either available on line or can be downloaded below.
