Activities for Tutors and Supporters in Vocational Learning

Return to list >>

The Vocational Pathways Strand works towards raising awareness amongst young people and their influencers of vocational pathways to higher education.

In order to reach as many young people as possible, Vocational Pathways has developed the Focus on Careers website (www.focusoncareers.org.uk ) to enable all young people in schools, colleges and in training provision access to localised careers and qualifications information.

This website also has a supporting lesson plan pack for schools/colleges, supporting PSHE lessons.

In order to make the best use of the staffing resource and in order to leave a sustainable legacy, Vocational Pathways focuses primarily on providing support for teachers, college tutors, training provider staff, parents and carers, Connexions Advisers and other influencers who can offer timely and appropriate information, advice or guidance to young people.  The aim of this work is to raise awareness of the range of vocational qualifications currently available and how they can support progression into higher education for vocational learners.
